  • Also it screws up the data collection for Acxiom when they try to peg what kind of consumer you are. That’s my favorite reason.

  • @sonnetjoy - no wonder i’ve been getting coupons for tuna fish and frozen dinners when all i ever buy is milk and cereal! I AM FOOLING THE SYSTEM

  • lol thank you very much since I’m one of those that never have the loyalty cards on hand.  It’s not that I’m lazy to get one, it’s just that my family tends to take them from me and I end up with none.

So thank you to you and people like you!

  • @Natalia - So when are you going to start mailing those superfluuous coupons to me?

  • whaaat is a loyalty card? it sounds like a secret treehouse club and i am all lonesome at the bottom ): i sad.

  • @bripants - i wish it were that cool. it’s a little keychain with a bar code on it that gets you extra savings at certain stores.

  • @Natalia - hey, i want one! so i can get tuna and frozen dinners! =D

  • Ah, yes, but make sure it’s not a debit card too!  You wouldn’t want them to use your affinity card and end up with their grocery bill too!

  • Whoa my gosh, don’t let the employees see you! When I worked at Kroger I was specifically told to DISCOURAGE customers from borrowing loyalty cards from one another… so of course, I adamantly ENCOURAGED it!

  • Im with you, when someone asks me to use my loyalty card – i do it. Why not save money together?!

  • …I have no idea what you’re talking about. (I know, I know. You don’t have to rub it in.)

  • People around here aren’t prone to forget their cards since purchases accumulate credit for discounted gasoline. (Ten cents for every $50 in
    purchases.)
If you stick to buying pretty much what you would anyway, you feel
pretty good when you go to the local Sunoco and get, say, eighty
or a hundred and twenty cents off a gallon for up to 20 gallons of gas.
