  • What do you want to be when you grow up?

my mom always said “i still don’t know what i want to be when i grow up!” and i think it’s a legitimate question at any point in your life. it saddens me to think that people can think “well, i guess this is all there is to do because that’s what i’m ‘sposed to do,” settle with whatever they’ve deemed sufficiently grown-up and stick with that for the rest of their lives under the guise of stability.

a little part of everyone should still want to be a rockstar, an astronaut, the president, whatever it was that intrigued you as a five-year-old. indulge yourself and go back to it for a while. learn four guitar chords, study astronomy, write a letter saying how you think taxes suck sometimes and how standardized tests are silly.

that being said, i regularly participate in karaoke given the opportunity, make up my own words and make asinine comments to whoever will listen because i want to be a popstar/tina fey hybrid when i grow up.

I just answered this Featured Question; you can answer it too!
