  • IDOL TONIGHT

I’ll be watching Idol tonight with one of the kids I babysit and his mom . . . here’s what I think everyone should sing for Beatles night and my predictions for the overall boot order.

    12. Chikezie – Oh! Darling
    11. Kristy Lee – Eight Days a Week
    10. Syesha – Golden Slumbers
    9. Amanda – With A Little Help from My Friends (Joe Cocker version) or Helter Skelter
    8. D. Hernandez – Getting Better
    7. Jason – While My Guitar Gently Weeps
    6. Michael – Hey Jude
    5. Cook – Come Together
    4. Brooke – We Can Work It Out
    3. Carly – Happiness Is A Warm Gun
    2. Archuleta – Let It Be
    1. Ramiele – Across The Universe

  • Did you see CynaraJane’s outline of the show?

  • @seedsower - yeah! that was what prompted me to post it, actually – it was sitting on my computer and i wanted to be sure i put it up.

  • Did you know that they can only sing from before Sgt. Pepper on back to the real old ones? I think that’s a crock, but that’s the deal. It should be interesting…

  • @CynaraJane - i hadn’t heard that! i knew they could only choose from the strictly lennon/mccartney catalog (meaning my beloved Something is safe) but i didn’t know about that stipulation.

  • I have not been following American Idol,   even though it is shown on a television channel in the United Kingdom.

The Beatles theme for this week’s show is a good choice.

  • Eh, Idol always bores me.

I demand they bring back Shark! I need my James Woods dose.

  • Good choices. I want to hear Archuleta sing something more upbeat. He’ soo good but he depresses me. :/

  • the fact that they’re doing a beatles-themed night almost makes me want to watch it.  not enough to actually watch it, but almost.

  • @bandislife - wah wah. this season is bad but now that the show has money, they can do fun stuff they’d never be able to pull off in s1 and 2

  • Yay!  Ramiele FTW!!

  • @manilajones - i hope she takes the whole thing. she can totally do it. i love that she’s laying low for now so she can explode with talent in, like, two weeks.

  • @Natalia -

gotta agree with that, except a better way to say it would be “the show has truckloads of money”

  • @bryantomato - that’s true . . . i remember the first season’s ford commercials (which were little skits taped on a camcorder) and the original look of the show – it’s a far cry from this season. i miss the low-budgetitude!

also, remind me to fax you snow next time it comes here

  • I’m glad you mentioned this.  I might have to watch some of it.

Hope all is well in Xangaland!

  • someone is going to have “a moment” tonight.

or Simon is going to say something to the effect of, “I thought it was too indulgent, you could have had your moment tonight but you blew it.”

i miss jeffery lampkins and kyle ensley.

  • @Natalia - re: something

a gray-haired dude pulled that out from the top pop catalog charts back in season 5 and got to sing that as a song where the requirement was that it was currently charting. so while others pulled out Mary J. Blige, KT Tunstall or Michael Buble, you had the Harrison tune thrown in there. i thought it was clever.

  • Flamboyant Boy is gone and that’s all I care about.  They can go ahead and crown Archuleta the winner.  Dreadlocks Guy is also a favorite of mine, but not exactly an American Idol.

  • @Natalia -

then what am I going to do? We only have sun, rain, more sun, more rain, EVEN MORE SUN… and no fax machine.
    that was a tad anticlimactic.

I realize I’ve used “a tad” a tad too many times.

  • I thought it was all songs by John Lennon and Paul Mckartney so there could be Lennon songs and Wings songs in there… I hope they mix it up a little more and do something not so familuar…I’m excited.

  • Dang, American Idol is still alive and kicking? I didn’t realize

  • Chikezie rocks! I loved the way he did that song.

  • Wow you are a fan. I will say that I watched the funny beginning part that everyone loves and I liked that Chikezie fellow and the kid.

  • hi! i couldn’t figure out how to message you..so i’m submitting a coment instead, sorry. Anyways, I’ve been having trouble with my site! I don’t know how to put a layout on for my public site! I think I have to do something with the look and feel, but i can’t find it because i screwed up my page by trying to add a layout, which added to my private site instead. Can you help me? Thanks!

  • @piecesofmyheart_quotes - no prob – just click “edit theme” at the top of your page, then, after the module comes down from the top, look on the left-hand side for the checkbox that says “make this your active theme”. uncheck that, click save and reload your page – you should be back on the old system!

  • thanks so much! that did the trick! The only problem now, is that when I go back to the old xanga view of my public site, it still has it up! And since it hides the look and feel space, I dont know how to put up a layout!

  • thank you so very much! =]

  • I didn’t see it.. did you get any right?

  • @DamienT98 - got one, actually – the only thing missing from kristy lee’s eight days a week was a pitchfork and a couple of cows. look for it on youtube!

  • I’ve actually been reading his books again. Can’t seem to find his children’s book around here, though.

  • @Drakonskyr - they’re probably boxed up or in between your dvd cases

  • I loved idol on tuesday. Especially jason castro’s “if i fell” acoustic version. Ahh, absolutely melted when I watched that haha. But ugh yeah, long live the beatles!

  • RYC:  the funny thing was, no matter how ridiculous i made those mock e-mails, people still thought they could be legit.  good times.

  • I did not know that you were a ninja, I guess that explains why I’ve never seen you.

  • Archuletta and possibly Cook (the one that can sing and play guitar) and Ramiele will be the top 3 i’m guessing so.
