coffee recs
I’ve been going to Starbucks lately because my totally awesome surrogate mother (not really – she’s a close family friend) sent me a gift card as a late graduation present. Yayyyy, thanks, Miss Merilee.
The problem is that I’m sick of Mocha Lights – not enough bang for your $3.75. I also don’t really like their brewed coffee unless I can put some sort of lightening liquid (milk and/or half and half), a Splenda and a shake or two of cinnamon, and if you mess up the coffee/cream ratio, it’s gross.
What’s your Starbucks drink of choice and/or recommendation for yours truly? I love coffee and anything overly caffeinated; really sweet things aren’t my favorite things to drink; I don’t really like chai. Ready, steady, go.
I miss Caribou. Do you guys have Caribou where you live? I love asking hypothetical questions to the internet community. Anyway, I would probably chop off my left arm – and that’s my good arm – to have one of their mochas right at this very second. There isn’t a ‘Bou within 50 miles from NYC, but I can travel . . . Maryland isn’t that far away, is it? What about Pittsburgh?

I have never been to a Starbucks. I do not like unadulterated coffee and I am fat enough without extra added daily creamer and sugar so I never learned to like coffee.I do enjoy a Chai Latte once in a while though.Do they make them?
I only like Starbucks’s breakfast blend. I think their house blend is overrated and overall the drinks are overpriced. I get my morning coffee from the deli around the corner and it is pretty good.
2 shot mocha latte with whipped cream – 80% milk, 20% espresso
if I want to mix it up, I get a white chocolate – strawberry latte, but mocha’s my fall back.
i don’t have caribou coffee here.
No Caribou Coffee here in KC, though my husband told me (last night, in fact!) that, while in Reston, VA for a work trip, he saw not a single Starbuck’s, but five gazillion Caribou.
I prefer a local coffeeshop; though I also buy my coffee from me (direct selling addiction). I’m not a huge coffee fan, but I like it hot, HOT, and slightly sweet and chocolate-y. Or just HOT with a little sugar and cream / milk.
And sometimes vodka.
1)sweetened tall iced coffee in a venti cup with extra ice. add half&half until the cup is full. stir and enjoy. cheap and a lot of bang for my buck
2) chai tea with soy.
2b) chai tea frapp.
3) tea in general–from anywhere really.
I miss Caribou too … Apparently South Carolina doesn’t have them
Not being a huge coffee fan I didn’t frequent them that often but when I did go out for coffee (or tea, or steamers/reindeer drinks, or …. just to study), Caribou it was!
