Inaugural address
My fellow Xangans –
Four score and seven years ago (okay, maybe more like . . .
six years ago,) I entered the blogosphere. As you undoubtedly know, it’s a way
to record your thoughts, to keep everyone up-to-date with what you’re doing and
to find people with similar interests. It’s like having a completely
customizable diary without having to worry about hiding it under your bed. Phew.Friends, family and I have made yearly lists of our favorite
movies, recorded our dreams and posted pictures (“photosafaris”) that define
who we are and who we want to be.Anyway.
Thus begins my journey as your source for all things Xanga. I’ll
keep you up to date with the latest and greatest and make sure you have all of
your burning questions answered. Send
them my way – I’ll be reading comments rabidly – and let me know what you love,
what you hate and whether or not you can help me learn how to play the banjo. You’ll be hearing from me often – we’re rolling out new features all the time, and it’s up to
you to tell us what you think.BTW, I’m Natalia – I’m the eldest of five kids, I think long walks on the beach are overrated and I have an undying love for cupcakes.
So, now that I’ve introduced myself, tell me a random fact about
you and what your favorite Xanga feature is, please. I’m curious.Lateration.

My random fact is that we left a check in an envelope taped to our door this evening that (we think) was collected by some hobo-type folks in hideous kelly green polos, and if they were freshmen, white shorts. And it’s very unlikely that said folks recognized our last name, because, well, I’m old now, and Stan’s older than I am. Anyway. My favorite feature is the Xangazon. (Is it still called that? I never really look at what it’s called.) It’s one of the reasons I couldn’t stay at blogspot. Among many. I like to tell people what I’m reading, listening to, or watching, (or gaming, but gaming makes me nervous because I do things like kill because he won’t get out of the damn car when it is on fire) without having to make a big show of it. I don’t want to blog about Rilo Kiley’s new album, I just want you to know I’m listening to it.
Umm. I think you want Xangans who don’t know you already to comment on this, not so much yours truly. Hopefully they will. Anyway, I’m very stoked about this new blog. I like that there are feet right there, watching me leave this comment with their toenail-like eyes.
Haha. That was horrible. At one point it said “Sweet” after “kill” and “Sweet” was linked to the Wikipedia article about the so-named character in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. But then something, clearly, went horribly, horribly, wrong. You are welcome to delete both of these comments so the universe doesn’t know you know people as spazzy as myself. (Seriously. I would.)
Man! Xanga has changed sooo much since when I first started blogging here. They have titles now. Chatboards! Photos! Audio! Pulses (whatever they are)! and all types of cool things that I barely use. My favorite feature is just having my space…and footprints because even if people don’t like my blog doesn’t mean I don’t like theirs and I can read up on new lives across the world. I mean I could search, but it’s so much easier to just click on a name that clicked on yours.
But if I had to choose…The FQs are a nice touch to the site. Even if I feel like I cannot think…they force me too. I like that.
Random Fact a la Moi – when I get bored and/or annoyed…I quietly, but aloud say “bloop, bloop, bloop…like a f*king fish” and it makes me feel better for some reason. I don’t know where I picked it up, in fact I think I made it up…but it works.
